Notropis chrosomus - Jeleček duhový
Mírumilovná drobná kaprovitá rybka původem z jihovýchodu Severní Ameriky. Patří mezi raritní chovance v akváriích. Snáší rozmezí teplot od 6 - 26 °C, takže je ideálním druhem pro studenovodní akvárium nebo pro sezonní chov pod širým nebem v zahradním jezírku.
Jeleček duhový se vyskytuje v Severní Americe ve státech Alabama, Gorgia a Tennesse. Dorůstá velikosi 8 cm, žije v hejnech a je velice aktivní. Doporučuje se proto chovat ve skupince spíše ve větší nádrži (alespoň 100 litrů). Od jara do podzimu je ideální i chov v zahradním jezírku, je chladnomilná. Doporučuje se osázení nádrže dostatkem rostlin, zvýšená čistota vody a dostatečné provzdušnění.
Na potravu není náročná, je to všežravec a přijímá jak živou, tak i umělou potravu v podobě vločkového krmiva i granulí. Z mražených krmiv je vhodná patentka, perloočky, buchanky, komáří larva, koretra, artemie a další. Část potravy by měla být i rostlinná.
V období tření jsou ryby nádherně neonově zbarvené, především na hlavě a na ploutvích. Mimo dobu rozmnožování není zbarvení tak nápadné.
